I received my winter quarter electricity bill last night.

It’s $194.79.

For the same period last year, it was $175.55.

My last bill, for April to June, was $201.50.

For April to June the year before, it was $213.75, so go figure.

If the carbon tax has “slugged” me a whole nineteen bucks a quarter extra for electricity, or six bucks a month, I can handle that, although I suspect the carbon tax has bugger all to do with it, and it’s more because I’ve been using the dishwasher the last few months on account I’m gettin’ old and lazy and couldn’t be arsed using the sink.
